I have MALARIA. I personally think that this has made me an official traveler to Kenya. Whats more, I think that I have captured the little fool in mid infectious bite in this photo.
It really isn't that big of a deal, I went to the clinic today where I got a nice big shot in my bum. I have two more to go, which will kill the little thing. I don't understand why it isn't called Mala-ria (split the syllables). The reason that I think that it should be called this is because of the "ria" that it causes (when i say ria I mean diarrhea). Anyways other then feeling crudy, all is well. And a small side note, Megan and Carol left today, making it much quieter, and a little sadder here at the house.

Oh Chris.....I sympathize....I was able to go 4 years before getting Malaria for the first time a few weeks ago!
That shot!!!! It feels like motor oil or honey getting injected, doesn't it?!?!? Well, at least you went right for the "bum" like they recommend at Freda's.....silly modest me....I opted for the arm on the first shot....OUCH!
Hope you feel better soon. I was only "down" completely for a day.
Your "also Kenyan" sista....
Lydia
ew poopy guy. i love you, get well soon! 'squitos are troublesome folk.
Malaria man? That makes you so hardcore. Just another war scar for bringing hope to people.
Chris... I could tell by the way you answered the phone today that you didn't feel good. Oh my, let's all thank God you have medical treatment; you will feel better and the medication will kill the parasites. You are my wonderful son, but my mind also wanders to those that don't have medical access. This is why this horrible parasite is a leading cause of death worldwide. The CDC reports that at least on million deaths occur every year due to malaria left untreated. Try to sleep with a net cover... please. I know it's a hassle, but you must do it. I love you so, DAD
Chris, I want so much to put my arms around you and give you a big hug and bring you chicken soup!!! I am so sorry! But at least you are getting proper treatment and that is the most important thing. I pray that your "ria" will go away and you will be up and running (no pun intended) really soon. Love you lots and miss you so much,
MOM xoxoxox
I think you should get some sort of really slow treatment, so that your body can build up a tolerance to Malaria, even learn to harbor it perhaps. Then you and good ol' Mal could have a symbiotic relationship which would allow you to carry man sized Malaria as opposed to wimpy Mosquito sized parasite. The benefit of being a carrier of Mega Malaria is the next time a mosquito bites you he will get the virus and be doomed, nature's pay back you know? Also you could infect your friends, for fun.
In all seriousness, I love you and think you should heed my advice... or just get better soon.
